The White Dress

You don’t remember your wedding as a checklist.

You remember how it felt.

The quiet breath before the ceremony.

The way your mother looked at you.

The laughter that wasn’t planned—and couldn’t be.

I photograph weddings the same way I’ve spent a career telling stories: patiently, honestly, and with an eye for the moments most people miss.

No heavy direction. No forced poses.

Just light, connection, and the truth of the day as it unfolds.

The result isn’t just a gallery of images.

It’s a body of work that lets you return—not just to how it looked, but to what it meant.

About

Christopher Tyree is a Virginia based visual journalist. Available wherever the work leads.

For more than three decades, he has documented people, place, and the moments that define them.

His work has taken him around the world, always grounded in human connection and emotional truth.

He does not direct the day.

He stays with it.

Waiting. Watching.

Letting moments arrive on their own terms.

Working with available light and instinct, he makes photographs that feel close, unforced, and lived in.

The result is not a performance of the day,

but a record of what it felt like to be there.

Not perfect.

But true.

This work resonates with those who value honesty over polish,

who understand that what lasts is often quiet.

This is not traditional wedding photography.

It is simply the day, seen clearly.

What You Receive

Each wedding is approached as a singular story—no templates, no tiers, no shortcuts.

Coverage is built around the full rhythm of your weekend, typically including the rehearsal and dinner, followed by the entire wedding day—from the quiet early moments through the final celebration. The goal is simple: to document the experience as it actually unfolds, without interruption or artifice.

I work primarily on my own, allowing for a consistent visual voice and a more intimate presence. When the scale of the event calls for it, I collaborate with a small group of award-winning photojournalists who share the same approach and standards.

Portraits can be part of the day if you’d like them to be. When couples choose to include more structured or staged portraits, those are approached thoughtfully and billed separately to preserve the integrity of the documentary coverage.

Following your wedding, you’ll receive a complete set of carefully edited, high-resolution images delivered as lossless files on a formatted hard drive. There are no print restrictions, no licensing hurdles, and no hidden costs.

You own your images.

I retain the right to share select photographs for portfolio and storytelling purposes—just as I would with any body of work—but the photographs themselves belong to you, to keep, to print, and to pass down.

Let’s Work Together

Please note that I only take on a select number of weddings per year.

If you're interested in working with us, complete the form with a few details about your project. We'll review your message and get back to you within 48 hours.

This isn’t coverage. It’s a body of work, made with you, and returned to you.
